How we work with you...

Dalmec work on a simultaneous engineering basis, especially with more complex applications, to ensure that the customer has a significant input due to their knowledge of their working environment and component(s) to be handled.

With Dalmec’s expertise of more than 50 years in the design and manufacture of bespoke handling equipment, together we can ensure that the most ergonomic handling solution is provided at an affordable price.

This also ensures that the customer is kept updated with the progress of their order(s) and with a Dalmec engineer being specifically assigned to a customer there will always be the assurance of the same point of contact throughout the project. Dalmec believe that continuity is essential in order to build customer relationships, as in this age of computerisation and modernisation the personal touch is being lost.

Dalmec work to the following agenda to ensure that all aspects of the customer application are fully attended to and that steps are taken to ensure smooth running of the project from the point of initial contact through to installation and after sales service:-

  1. Customer enquiry about a specific handling application.
  2. Dalmec Sales Engineer to visit site to meet with customer and conduct a site survey.
  3. Quotation presented to customer of the suggested handling solution that will meet with customers’ budget.
  4. Customer orders the manipulator.
  5. The same Dalmec Sales Engineer will re-visit site (for more complex applications a Dalmec Design Engineer may also attend this visit) to ensure there have been no changes and to take all required measurements within the working area, taking into careful consideration any obstacles such as mezzanine floors, ducting etc.
  6. Customer sends samples of all components to be handled to Dalmec Limited for design and trial purposes.
  7. A Dalmec Design Engineer commences preliminary design work in liaison with the customer.
  8. Upon customers’ approval of the proposed design concept, all information and samples are passed on to our Design Department in Italy where final manufacturing drawings are produced.
  9. The final manufacturing drawings are presented to the customer for their approval prior to manufacture.
  10. Once the customer has approved the final manufacturing drawings, production commences.
  11. The manipulator(s) is fully tested prior to despatch from Italy.
  12. Upon arrival in the UK, the customer is contacted by our dedicated Service Department Administrator who liaises directly with the customer to arrange for delivery, installation, commissioning and operator training to take place. As per Dalmec’s standard scope of supply, a method statement and risk assessment is sent to the customer for their approval prior to delivery of the manipulator.
  13. An Instruction Manual is supplied to the customer, which contains the Certificate of Conformity.
  14. A Preventative Maintenance Contract is offered to the customer to provide a regular service thus ensuring that the manipulator is maintained to a high standard.
  15. The Dalmec Sales Engineer will also contact the customer to ascertain the customers’ satisfaction and to offer any further assistance.
